Have you ever been given a “message” that you need to go some where or do something?

This recently happened with me..My friend Kathryn kept telling me about this event and that maybe I should think of going..It wasn’t until the 3rd time she had said it,that I thought, well maybe I should see if there are any spots lefts. Low and behold, guess what, there was!

As soon as the organizer told me there was a spot for me, my mind went into overdrive, in this case it was a good thing as Martha Stewart would say. I began to paint a cushion the day before the event for reasons unknown to me and it had to be at this event…So the next day, cushion in hand, I walked into the event..As soon as I walked in, I met Kimberly and knew this cushion was for her cause.

You see, Kimberly is a bereaved mother. Her son Matthew died suddenly in August 2009 at the age of 27 as a result of complications from addictions. Kimberly had been involved in meditation and alternative health modalities long before the tragic loss of her son, and now uses her knowledge and wellness background to offer a place for other moms who are bereaved. As a parent and now a grandparent, I cannot even imagine the outcome of losing a child.I did see it from a different side, as my parents had to deal with the loss of my sister.

Kimberly runs a Bereaved mothers retreat where they have the opportunity to meet and connect with other mothers who are bereaved. It is her intent that the time spent together will not only be a “respite” to nurture their spirits but also a beginning step to taking care of themselves each and every day after the retreat, and especially for those difficult days such as anniversaries, birthdays and special occasions. How is it that someone who has suffered such a loss, still wants to give to others..This my friends is someone who know the true meaning of selfishness. Her pain is so great that she is still willing to be there for others,to hear their pain in their voices, their tears and still stay strong as a beacon.

Matthew loved helping others. The retreat is my way of giving back and also honoring Matthew’s life.I feel his smile and his spirit at each retreat weekend.

So, on the wings of an angel we pray for comfort for loved ones still here and loved ones sadly missed that we may continue to do our work, to persevere through the good times and the bad, and make it through another day. That is all we can ask it to make it another day, another moment, until we are joined together in the heavens above.

Please support Kimberly’s purpose for herself and others by purchasing 1,2,3 or more cushions that help with the healing of our mother’s

Peace by with you

Elizabethe
